Bart blogged recently about the Mini Mapper feature that the people checking Flock‘s nightly builds may have noticed.The story behind this Mapper is really about scratching an itch: Jesse was looking at the appartements in craigslists. There is usually an address and a link to Yahoo!Maps Google Maps. It’s nice to check the location, but it’s better to have all the appartements that I like on the same map, as well as places that are important to me: the work/study place. We started to hack together, and a few hours later the Mini Mapper was there.
It sure still needs improvements and integration with other Flock’s tools, but that’s already a working component that I hope Flock users will appreciate.
Erwan, Since you apparently had a hand in writing the mini mapper (or perhaps were responsible for it), I need to ask your help. I’m about write the entry for the Flock User’s Guide at the Wiki for this feature, I’d appreciate your input about what its features are and what the average user needs to know about it. Since I’d assume you’d prefer to do this privately, I’ll also send this to you by private mail.
